based composer and sound designer bernd schultheis.
as an internationally acclaimed composer of instrumental, vocal and
electronic music he creates a sculptural and multidimensional sound
world for your projects by combining music and sound design as an integrated
compositional process.
on the way from the initial idea and concept to sound or music
recording to electro acoustical transformation and spatialization during
the post production steps, bernd schultheis controls and supervises
every single step of the creative process. from location and field
recording to foley production, SFX, and surround mixing everything
underlies the same consistent artistical concept.
music is recorded in sessions with real soloists or orchestras.
there is no keyboard sample orchestra unless needed for aesthetic reasons.
no common standard sampling database sounds. every soundbit is created
from scratch by playing an instrument or by programming
electronic instruments and spatialization tools that are taylored
to your project's needs.
bernd schultheis prototypes and developes his work within dedicated
software environments like Open Music, Max/MSP, PD, Csound, SuperCollider,
Modalys, Diphone and AudioSculpt. editing, mixing and mastering is done within Nuendo and Pro Tools.
bernd schultheis works with outstanding musicians, sound artists and
engineers. the studio, situated in the very center of berlin, is suited
for up to 16 discrete channels of surround sound in any available 2d or 3d
configuration. besides the standard surround formats also special listening situations are featured.
bernd schultheis' writing of new orchestral film scores to Metropolis
(Fritz Lang, D 1926) - premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival
2001 -, Faust (Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau, D 1926) & Les Deux Timides
(René Clair, F 1927) brought him international acclaim. he composes music and designs sound for ZDF/arte documentary and feature film productions and radioplays comissioned by several radio stations.
His music is being played in concert halls and theatres throughout the world.
