World Association Of Zoos And Aquariums, 2008

// The WAZA comissioned a composition made from animals voices to accompany a trailer and image film to be screened in zoos and aquariums, on the organization's web pages and during congresses throughout the world. bernd schultheis made his selection from a database of over 15.000 animals voices and noises choosing about 200 recordings as a soundpool for his composition. A complex spatial concept was developed to animate tiniest sections of these recordings to conceive a lively but virtual polyphonic soundscape.

Stanley Kubrick - exhibition and films

// deutsches filmmuseum frankfurt / main, Germany 2004
as a curator for music bernd schultheis conceived the exhibition's listening station "By means of music", a black box with a screen showing film excerpts compiled under musical aspects.
for the exhibition's catalogue he wrote an essay entitled "Expanse of possibilities - Stanley Kubrick's soundtracks in notes" about Stanley Kubrick's use of music and sound.

after the frankfurt opening the exhibition has been on display in Berlin, Melbourne, Ghent, Zurich and Rome.

Der Tunnel, documentary by Marcus Vetter, Germany

// bernd schultheis was commissioned to write an orchestral score for the award winnig documentary about a group of students digging a tunnel running under the Berlin Wall in 1964 to help people escape from East Berlin.

Signalstörung, experimental film by Thomas Mank, Germany

// commissioned by ZDF "Das kleine Fernsehspiel" in 1998, Signalstörung was awarded the 'Hessischer Filmpreis' (the federal state of Hessia's award for the best film of the year).
